Will ITZY make it to the ‘it group’?

Video: Even Park Jin Young seems to have given up on ITZY despite the initial popularity

[+217] In fact, ITZY could have maintained their popularity if JYP had given them more support during their ‘Sneakers’ and ‘Cheshire’ promotions.

[+170] The problem with ITZY is that they don’t have much promotions and their members don’t have any activities. JYP has always maintained their image by choosing unique ideas for all of their music videos and albums, but at the same time they don’t have the support that an artistic project like this needs from their agency. They were very new when they first introduced their girl group of hip hop). black pink opened the door for girl groups when ITZY was neglected and it was a rough time when all aspects of the concept were tried. Fans loved the idea of ITZY but JYP didn’t know what to do. Instead of distinguishing the group from others, they kept choosing different album after different album, without individual releases… and they have reached a point where people are more familiar with ITZY as a “neither here nor there” group than one real idea. Again, this is not the fault of the members… It is JYP’s fault. I think ITZY started when JYP got really sick and didn’t know what to do with a ‘hip hop’ genre that they didn’t manage before.

[+110] I think JYP changed their management style after what happened with Suzy. They seem to really hate the dominance of one member over all the popularity in a group. If you look at how they handled TWICE, ITZY, Stray Kids, and NMIXX, they limited individual promotions and short TV appearances only during their comebacks (and only as a whole group). Members rarely get any individual practice time (maybe Double, but it’s been around for years now). They only choose shows like ‘Iloa Bros’ where the whole group can be invited, which usually prioritizes CF and other promotional methods to avoid JYP in general. Come on, look at Yuna. Do you really think she didn’t get much CF value after that ‘U Go Girl’? I bet he got a lot of invitations from everywhere!!

[+98] I would love another group but ITZY’s combined talents will probably make them the top of all girl groups. Every single person is talented.

[+59] I wish JYP wouldn’t be so hard on them. Please treat them well.

[+53] I thought ‘Dalla Dalla’ was a classic song with a great drama, but ‘Wannabe’ was really all around good singing and dancing. Their other songs are really bad. ‘Mafia’ is bad, good dance. After a while, I stopped bothering to check them out, especially when there were many girl groups like New Jeans, IVE, Le Sserafim, aespa, and NMIXX, although NMXIX was not even one. NMXIX got a lot of hate because of the bad first song, and I think they don’t have the quality to be popular even though they come from a big branch. The first four sections are so large that it is easy to forget the other sections. There is no reason to worry about groups like ITZY. Now that it’s been five years, it won’t be long before their contracts expire.

[+43] Yuna can be the top in the world without JYP

[+38] The truth is that I don’t see NMIXX anymore, it’s a waste of talented members… It wasn’t meant to be buried like this.

[+36] When I heard Yuna sing black pink‘s song, I realized how beautiful her voice is. I’ve never really felt into ITZY’s songs, but ‘Pretty Savage’ is perfect for her ㅠㅠㅠㅠ If Yuna went to YG, I think her solo would have been successful by now. Anyway, hope for a comeback from ITZY with the perfect song ?

[+34] If JYP had a little push during ‘Sneakers,’ they would have carried that performance to maintain their popularity in their next release with Park Jin Young or not… It’s a shame, all they need is a little more attention from JYP…

[+32] ITZY’s debut was really hot, but they didn’t reach ‘it group’ status because of JYP. I think JYP as a whole has no composers. It doesn’t matter how beautiful and talented their group is if they don’t have a composer to give them hit songs. Park Jin Young introduced individual stars such as Rain, god, Wonder Girls, 2PM, miss A, and TWICE hit daebak off Black Eyed Pilseung’s song… but since BEP’s departure, no JYP group has achieved #1 on the digital charts. Currently, New Jeans has reached a high of 250..

[+30] Let’s be honest with ourselves. ITZY misses A without Suzy. Great animation but no real soundtrack, no visuals, no special characters. They trashed half the market by doing that first. Their people are more for the female perspective, which makes it difficult for a group like this to gain widespread popularity if you ignore the attention that comes from male social media. Their daughter’s opinion was also very strong in the beginning that they started to combine all their ideas with each other. By the time they tried new ideas, the public didn’t care anymore. ITZY’s failure was written in the stars from the start. Their first song is great, but that’s about it. Not even the gods can save ITZY this time.

[+28] ITZY’s problem: #1 they don’t have a core voice. JYP’s biggest problem with their groups is that they don’t choose voices that the public can easily recognize as “that voice” … I guess their best example is Sunye. #2 no information on who the seer is. Yuna is pretty, Lia is pretty, but none of them have the kind of Yoona/Suzy/Jisoo look that the public likes. #3 too many dancers. Aside from Lia, ITZY may be the highest among all girl groups in terms of dance talent alone, but most girl groups only have one main dancer that makes them stand out. For all of them to be good enough to feel part of a dance team is better than an idol group. #4 they messed up at a bad time which doesn’t match TWICE in the third generation and not NMIXX in the fourth generation. They are only in generation 3.5 and they are alone. I don’t know if NMIXX started because of ITZY’s failure or JYP stopped caring about ITZY because of NMIXX’s start, but one thing is for sure, JYP failed both groups by not being able to divide their management between them.

[+23] This usually happens with JYP groups… They start really well until the group drops and disappears…

[+10] JYP is no longer hiring domestically because of the fierce competition. They didn’t invest in local promotions for ITZY but TWICE, NMIXX, and Stray Kids. Korea has never done any tournaments, only international tournaments where the money is. This is what works for them, and this is what keeps JYP in the Big 4 all the time.

[+7] I remember thinking that Yeji was a refreshing sight with great dance skills when he first came out with ‘Dalla Dalla’… JYP is crazy that they can’t do more with such a talented group.
